Windows Installation - AnyConnect VPN
ATTENTION: In order to obtain the AnyConnect client you must use Internet Explorer, this install does not seem to work with Firefox or Chrome or any other web browsers at the time of this writing.
Step 1. Open Internet Explorer > Go to “Tools” in the top navigation bar above the viewing window > Select “Internet Options” > Select the “Security” tab.
Step 2. Click on “Trusted Sites” and it should highlight and a new option will appear below called “Sites”.
Step 3. Click on the “Sites” button.
Step 4. Where it says “Add this website to the zone:”, enter "https://knocker.hccfl.edu", then click “Add”, and click the "Close Button"
Step 5. Back on the “Internet Options” box, Click “Ok”.
Step 6. With Internet Explorer open navigate to https://knocker.hccfl.edu and you will be presented with the following screen.
Step 7. Click on “Continue to this website (not recommended).”
Step 8. You may or may not be presented with a security warning (see below), if you are just click “Yes”.
Your browser will direct you to the “HCC VPN Service” page.
Step 9. Make sure “HCC-USERS” is selected for the “GROUP”. Enter your FAMILY Username and Password in the corresponding fields and click “Login”.
The next screen you are presented with will be a brief user policy as shown below.
Step 10. Click “Continue”, and a Security Alert will pop up on your screen telling you that the page requires a secure connection. Click “Yes”.
Once you see the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client window (shown below), just follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 11. You will be asked to install an Active X controller. At the top of your browser you will see a bar pop up saying “This website wants to install the following add-on: ’AnyConnect VPN Client’ from ‘Cisco Systems, Inc.’. If you trust the website and the add-on and want to install it, click here…“. Just right click the box and select “Install this add-on for all users on this computer “.
For Vista and Windows 7 an additional box may appear saying “Windows needs your permission to continue”. Just click “Continue”.
Step 12. You will be prompted by another box asking you “Do you want to install this software. “. Click “Install”.
Step 13. Another Security Alert will pop up on your screen telling you that the page requires a secure connection. Click “yes”.
For Vista and Windows 7 an additional box will appear saying “An unidentified program wants to access your computer“. Click “Allow”.
Step 14. From there, the auto installer will take over and do the rest.
Once the installation is complete you will see the screen below and you can close Internet Explorer.
Note: During the install process you were automatically connected with the AnyConnect client.
